About us

Stronger together. A healthier DuPage.

Food pantries, community organizations, growers, food banks, businesses, and government — working as one coordinated emergency food system across DuPage County.

Our mission

The DuPage Hunger Network brings together food pantries, community organizations, and partners to strengthen food access, address the root causes of hunger, and build a more equitable and resilient food system for all DuPage County residents.

Our network

One system, not a single door.

We operate the digital and collaborative infrastructure that allows DuPage-based food pantries and community partners to function as one coordinated emergency food system — sharing food, information, purchasing power, transportation, data, innovation, and advocacy to better serve our neighbors.

Our priorities

What we're working on in 2026.

Five efforts the network is driving together this year.

Centralized storage hub

Explore shared infrastructure and regional food hubs that improve food storage, distribution, rescue, and access in the north and northeast regions of DuPage County.

Diaper bank

Increase reliable access to diapers and other essential hygiene products by integrating diaper distribution into the existing emergency food network via The Outreach House, a designated Diaper Bank.

Co-buy & network evolution

Strengthen the network's collective purchasing power and evolve from individual organizations working independently toward greater resource sharing, collaboration, and coordinated solutions.

Local growers

Build stronger connections between DuPage County growers and the emergency food system to increase the availability of fresh, locally grown food for residents experiencing food insecurity.

Data committee

Develop more consistent, shared data across the network to identify service gaps, understand community needs, improve coordination, and inform future investments and systems-level decisions.

Our history

Built on decades of working together.

For decades, food pantries and community organizations across DuPage County have worked together to respond to hunger in our communities. The DuPage Hunger Network was created as a forum for emergency food providers to share information, coordinate resources, and strengthen the community's response to food insecurity.

Today, the network is building on that foundation. Partners are coming together to identify gaps, share resources, explore innovative solutions, and advocate for a stronger food system.

People's Resource Center (PRC) serves as the anchor organization for the network, providing staff leadership, coordination, meeting infrastructure, communications, and administrative support that allows member organizations to work collectively.

Our goal is not only to help individual organizations respond to hunger more effectively. It is to work together to create a more coordinated, equitable, and resilient food system for all DuPage County residents.
